Purpose
Purpose
Anderson Partnership is a group of parents and staff working together to provide a better learning environment for our students. If you can volunteer in any way, we would greatly appreciate it! Our purpose is to support our children's education.
Meijer and Kroger Rewards Programs
Meijer and Kroger offers rewards to our school when our families scan their reward cards.

Please look in the "flyers folder" for directions on how to register your card and help the school earn money.

Keep in mind that the rewards our school receives does not take away from the normal rewards and points that you would normally earn.

Leader in Me –
This program was discussed at great length both by teachers and parents who have been to schools using the program now and they all commented on how beneficial this program would be to encourage our students to grow into confident and productive adults. There were many questions/concerns as to the cost and many parents were wanting more informational meetings. Parents and teachers were encouraged to see how program works at other schools. Here are some points about the program:
o Program will start in the fall whether or not we reach our goal of $25,000.00.
o Mrs. Watkins has written grants that have procured $20,000.00 towards fees.
o Grant is good for 2 years.
o McGrath/Anderson is the only school in the district that will be participating.
o Indian Hill has the “Positivity Project” which is free – some parents asked why we just don’t do that program.
Spring Fling –
This event is being held to help raise money for Field Day and the Leader in Me program (if needed).
The event is for both Anderson and McGrath students.

Mother/Son Picnic –
This event is just for Anderson student families.

Field Day –
o This event will now be on the same day for both schools (to help share the costs and to accommodate families with children in both schools).
o There will be a bounce house. Each grade will have a different time in the bounce house so no one gets hurt.
Carmody Family –
Grand Blanc Schools is taking up donations for the Carmody family for their children’s college funds. A vote was taken as to whether Anderson and McGrath should donate two $100.00 gift cards to the fundraiser baskets. No extra monies would be needed as they would be taken out of the Field Day fund. There was an overwhelming yes on this vote.

Fifth Grade Farewell –
Teachers present asked for help from parents with making DVD’s for the 5th graders, making balloon banners, etc. It was also that we could put on our Facebook page (which we did).

Parent/Teach Partnership –
This new endeavor was discussed briefly. Here are some highlights:
o We will be starting this new partnership at the beginning of the next school year.
o Partnership board positions are available and will be discussed and voted on at the next meeting.
o Bylaws paperwork was handed out which includes all the Board positions titles and their descriptions/duties.

Budget –
Monies received and monies spent were briefly discussed and handouts were given out.

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast –
The breakfast went over very well and all the teachers present said how much they appreciated it and thanked all those responsible for putting it together.

Mascot Change –
It was announced that there will be a mascot change for Anderson beginning next school year. Anderson will now be considered an “Eagle” – the same as McGrath.

Meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be in June.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
